I Am Blackbeard
I am fearless and ruthless
I wonder how many ships I can capture
I hear the devil laughing with me
I see the fear when I take over their ship
I want more treasure than my ship can hold
I am fearless and ruthless
I pretend to be an English gentleman in Bath North Carolina
I feel the coldness of my cutlass
I touch the wind as it fills the ships sails
I worry that someone will find my treasure
I cry for the ships that got away
I am fearless and ruthless
I understand that Maynard wants me dead
I say that I am invincible and no one can catch me
I dream of my wives I have left behind
I try to outsmart Maynard
I hope to find my head someday
I am fearless and ruthless

Excellent information on the life of a pirate. The story is written in question/answer format and is like a pirate encyclopedia. The illustrations are fun yet very informative.
Pirate Diary – The Journal of Jake Carpenter written by Richard Platt and Illustrated by Chris Riddell. 2001 winner of Kate Greenaway Medal.
Jake’s father sends him to see some of the world before beginning a career in medicine. Jake sets off with his Uncle Will on an adventure that begins on board the ship the Greyhound. Read Jake’s diary and travel with him to distant lands, meet new people and go on an adventure that will never be forgotten.
Peter and the Starcatchers written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson
Peter, a young orphan boy boards the Neverland and meets a young girl named Molly. There is also the interesting fact that there is an unexplained trunk on board the ship that causes people to act mysteriously when they come into contact with it. Black Stache the pirate only complicates matters even more as he seems to be interested in capturing the trunk. Travel with Peter and Molly as they must protect the contents of the trunk and deliver it safely to those who wish to protect its contents.
Peter and the Starcatchers is an awesome book. It has rapidly moved into being one of my favorites and I can not wait to read the other books in the series. The story is full of suspense, mystery, and intrigue. There is also the hint of romance, a little jealousy, and a little bit of humor while you are reading. It is one of those books that I did not want to put down. I also love the way the chapters are set up. You get to see this story through so many different characters point of view.

Peggy, that next to the last line of your Blackbeard poem got me- oh I didn’t see that coming! Too Funny!!!
